Join us for a wonderful exploration of Iyengar yoga through the lens of the Bhagavad Gita. Devki will highlight the transformational aspects of asanas as we look further into Prashant’s concept of how asanas can become iconographic and move us towards benevolence and tranquility.
Lord Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita, “taking the center body as a plumb line, hold the right and left sides of the body with determined effort.” When the sides of the body are held parallel to one another and the body becomes stable, citta stambha vrtti or a stable state of consciousness occurs. Prashant Iyengar states, “By doing an asana, some transformation takes place in you…You become greater than you and break all the shackles
and delimiting factors.”

We are honored to have the opportunity explore to these concepts with Senior RIMYI teacher Devki Desai, a direct disciple of BKS Iyengar, Geeta Iyengar and Prashant Iyengar. Her lyrical teaching will draw you deep into the state of inner poise, the state of yoga, bringing a healthy stable mind to a healthy stable body.
