“Yoga allows you to find an inner peace that is not ruffled and riled by the endless stresses and struggles of life.”
– BKS Iyengar

The end of the year and the holidays can create a lot of stress for many of us. Even though we try to simplify our busy lives, we all know what it’s like to feel stressed. However, it is not always easy to describe exactly what stress means or how it is manifesting in our lives. Situations or events that put pressure on us, our reaction to being placed under pressure, or life events, bereavement, loss and trauma, many things can cause stress that can overwhelm us and develop into depression and/or anxiety. Fortunately, our yoga practice can help us develop emotional resistance so that you’re better at coping with tough situations when they do happen.

A balanced, nurturing practice can help us build strength, resilience and hope. Physically, the body reacts to stress and practicing certain postures will help to undo the gripping in the internal body as well as the external. As BKS Iyengar states, “The whole thrust of yogic philosophical and scientific inquiry has therefore been to examine the nature of being, with a view to learning to respond to the stresses of life without so many tremors and troubles.”

Join Susan Elena for this special Yoga for Stress workshop which will incorporate variations for all levels of experience. You will learn a sequence to support you through postures that are grounding, energizing, strengthening, stimulating, and calming. The reciprocal nature of this practice will help you navigate difficult situations and put you in charge of your mental and emotional well being.

All Levels welcome, 2 years yoga experience recommended.

This is a hybrid workshop so you can attend in- person or online. A
recording will be sent to all who attend with 2 week access. In person spaces are limited so be sure to sign up early.
