YOGA VRKSA IYENGAR YOGA IMMERSION PROGRAM

with Susan Elena Esquivel

This online Iyengar Immersion is inspired by Geeta Iyengar, my studies in India and with some of the most Senior Iyengar teachers in the world. The Iyengar method is a deep and rich practice that is ripe with creativity. Yoga is an art, a science and a philosophy. Through creative exploration, consistent practice and a supportive community of like minded yogis, we broaden our horizons and move towards a true state of Yoga. This program is geared towards students who want to deepen their practice or begin the journey towards mentorship and becoming a teacher-in training.

“The holistic approach of Yoga Vrksa allows a much broader and deeper understanding of the practice resulting in a gratifying sense of growth and being.” – Linda Shea, Massachusetts

Join this Iyengar Yoga Immersion Program throughout 2023 to deepen your personal practice and explore the vastness of Iyengar yoga. Includes asana, philosophy, anatomy and pranayama. Over each 12 week session, we will break down poses and learn how to accomodate our bodies individual needs.

Yoga teaches us how to infuse our movement with intelligence, transforming it into action. BKS Iyengar through his years of devoted practice discovered that the purpose or goal of asana is to align and harmonize the physical body and all the layers, or sheaths, of the subtle emotional, mental, and spiritual body. This is integration. But how does one align these layers and experience integration? It begins with awareness. Guruji understood how asana and pranayama can be the means to reach the Self. Through the art of integration, the path of yoga can lead us to ultimate freedom. Join us as we pierce through the layers and deepen our practice of asana in preparation for pranayama.

Here’s what people are saying about the program:

“Since this program began, I have found benefit from it in multiple ways. My asana practice and body awareness have improved, as has my outlook on life. The timing really helped me cope with a dramatic life change at the beginning of the pandemic, and the impact of these sessions will likely affect the rest of my journey going forward.” – Greg Haggard, Massachusetts
“The sutra studies and the readings, especially from other commentaries have been very helpful. The chanting helps me in quieting my mind & sets the stage for the class.I find myself more focused & pay more attention to the details of the instructions.
